Social Events Programme

Social events are not our main objective although, of course, most ramblers enjoy conversations either during a walk or over lunch of the many walks organised throughout the year. One thing about having a conversation when walking is that this function has no loud music blaring in your ears, there only being the distraction of rabbits running across the fields; deer fleeing in the distance or bird song in the trees.

However, a number of members like to relax together doing other activities and several of these occur throughout the year such as Diminishing Whist; a Quiz Night; a Jazz Ball; or a Christmas Meal.

CHRISTMAS LUNCH At Walthamstow Tickets: £17 approx - to be verified The Mallison Rooms A Previous Christmas Lunch	The Restaurant can cater around for 75 people. Provisional arrangements have been made for the Christmas Lunch to be held again at the Mallinson Restaurant. The cost of the meal will be about £17. The college has not yet finalised the date when the college term will end, so they cannot give us a firm date other than to say that it will be on either the 9th or 16th of December. By the the time the next issue of WEP is prepared (Oct/Nov), we should have, not only a firm date, but also details of the menu. There will a short local walk before the meal. Mike W.
