The Alternative Index

This page will be less formal than the others and items will slowly be added to reflect general topics on rambling and in particular those related to West Essex Ramblers.

If you have views on subjects that you think require covering, including subjects you may wish to prepare yourself, then contact either John Francis or John Juchau as they control the general content of the web site.

Item 3 .... WEST ESSEX RAMBLERS on RAMBLERS SITE

The West Essex Ramblers walks also appear on the Ramblers' site (since 6th March 2009).
If you've never used the Ramblers' site then my instructions are: click on Ramblers' logo (top left hand corner of this page) to get to their site (in another window);
click on "Walks finder"; click on "Group Walks Finder"; click on "map search";
fill "Search details" box as requested or Click on area of Map; fill other boxes as required;
Click on "Go"; and the walks summaries are on the right hand side.
(Map clickers can click again to zoom in - Press "Go" afterwards). Click on a summary for full details including maps (make sure to scroll right to the bottom).

West Essex Ramblers walks are Characterised by having, for example, (LONDON, NE) suffixed to the Brief Description. (The range is ESSEX, HERTS, LONDON, KENT to the left and NORTH, NE, EAST, SE, SOUTH, SW, WEST, NW, MIDDLE to the right). Unfortunately the suffix only describes the meeting place (it is automatically derived from the start Grid Reference) you may immediately move off into another county!
